My Story
My name is George Ryman Lysy, and I am a recent Industrial Design graduate from Purdue University. My path into design was not a straight line, but something that grew over time through curiosity, making, and a constant interest in objects that invite interaction rather than just admiration.

As an industrial designer, my strongest skills are 3D modeling and physical prototyping. I am most energized by projects that explore new user experiences and unexpected play patterns. My work often leans playful and unconventional, with a love for bold, maximalist aesthetics. I am especially drawn to designing toys and furniture, where function, emotion, and interaction meet.

I consider myself non-conformist, but not contrarian. I understand current trends and the thinking behind them, but I do not design simply to fit in. Above all, I want to make things that are engaging, memorable, and genuinely fun.

Outside of the studio, I spend a lot of my time reading classic science fiction and fantasy, riding my bike, cooking meals from scratch, and writing when an idea sticks. I take long walks when I need to clear my head, and I am usually down for bar trivia with friends.

I graduated in 2025 from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s of fine art in Industrial design and a minor in English and writing. My eccentric furniture pieces have been featured in GreenDesigns, collater. al, and Pale Blue Magazine. My style focuses on playful, insightful design that captures the attention of both children and adults.
