Overview
Nuraghe is a dynamic, luxury statement outdoor rotunda which combines history with modernity, with beautiful, timeless design, and a form inspired by the Nuraghic ruins found all across Sardinia.

This project was created to align with the brand design sense of Gandia Blasco, a Valencia-based, Mediterannean-inspired outdoor furniture company.

CMF + Materials Analysis
Similar products in the Gandia Blasco catalog were analyzed for their materials and CMF qualities, to inspire the current design.

Ideation process
The full ideation process took a little less than 2 weeks from initial concepts to the final idea, focusing mostly on making literally hundreds of minor adjustments in CAD software, particularly Rhino and Solidworks, until many more refined ideas came out of it.

Inspiration

Nuraghe is the name for any one of the 7,000+ beehive-shaped ruins found all across the Italian island of Sardinia, remnants of the vanished bronze-age Nuragic civilization, of which very little is known.
Across Sardinia, bronze miniatures of Nuraghes have been excavated, proving the significance of these structures as well as a glimpse into what they looked like before they were ruined.

...To this day, the Nuraghe is a symbol of Sardinian culture and history.
"a reminder of the continuity of human experience and ingenuity that supersedes memory."
