Nova Sentinel
Robotic toy/character design
Personal Project
The Nova Sentinel is a robot miniature designed to show my abilities in the realm of character design and ideation, as well as to create a displayable desk toy. All aspects of its design are intentional and have a function within its world.
Sketches
I had an idea of what I wanted from the getgo, but the exact form and design were completely nebulous. I tried to avoid shapes that were too humanoid, preferring a mysterious yet anthropomorphic appearance.

CAD modelling
To create a proportionally accurate model, I resketched the winning idea in different orthographic perspectives, then imported the pictures into the modelling program.

After finishing the basic model, I subdivided and I used sculpting tools to add rough edges, scratches and bulletholes to the model.

Then I hollowed out the individual pieces and created connection points between all of the separate pieces intended for 3D Printing.

Iterations
I printed the final model on an Anycubic Photon MS resin printer. I made another model to fix some minor problems with the model, and changed some aspects of the design.
